Mirissa

Mirissa Beach is the main draw for most visitors to Mirissa. It's a beautiful beach with soft white sand, clear blue water, and plenty of opportunities for swimming, sunbathing, surfing, and other water sports.

Whale Watching is one of the most popular activities in Mirissa. Humpback whales and blue whales can be seen in the waters off Mirissa from December to April, and there are many tour operators offering whale watching trips.

Secret Beach is a small, secluded beach located just south of Mirissa Beach. It's a great place to escape the crowds and relax in peace and quiet.

Tangalle

Hummanaya Blow Hole: This natural wonder is a must-see for any visitor to Tangalle. The blow hole is formed when waves crash against a cave mouth, creating a powerful spout of water that can reach up to 30 feet high.

Kalamatiya Bird Sanctuary: This sanctuary is home to over 200 species of birds, including flamingos, pelicans, and kingfishers. It's a great place to go bird watching, especially during the winter months when the birds migrate from Europe.

Mulkirigala Rock Temple: This ancient temple is carved into a large rock. It's a popular spot for meditation and yoga, and the views from the top are amazing.

Rekawa Turtle Watch: This is one of the best places in Sri Lanka to see sea turtles. The turtles come to Rekawa Beach to lay their eggs, and you can go on a turtle-watching tour to see them in action.

Yala

Yala National Park: This is the main draw for most visitors to Yala. The park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles, and over 200 species of birds. You can go on a safari to see the animals in their natural habitat.

Buduruwagala: This is a group of rock-cut Buddha statues dating back to the 10th century. The statues are carved into a granite cliff and are some of the largest and most impressive in Sri Lanka.

Okanda Devalaya: This is a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Vishnu. The temple is located on the coast of Yala and is a popular spot for pilgrims.

Kebiliththa: This is a Buddhist monastery located in the heart of Yala National Park. The monastery is said to have been founded in the 2nd century BC and is home to some beautiful rock paintings.

Sithulpawwa: This is an ancient Buddhist monastery located in the southern part of Yala National Park. The monastery is said to have been founded in the 1st century AD and is home to some well-preserved ruins.

Magul Maha Viharaya: This is an ancient Buddhist temple located in the southwest part of Yala National Park. The temple is said to have been founded in the 1st century AD and is home to some beautiful frescoes.

Kataragama: This is a Hindu pilgrimage site located near Yala National Park. The town is home to a number of temples and shrines dedicated to the god Kataragama.

Ella

Nine Arch Bridge: This iconic bridge is one of the most photographed landmarks in Ella. It was built in 1921 and is located in the Demodara Valley. You can walk across the bridge or take a train ride underneath it.

Little Adam's Peak: This mountain is a popular hiking destination in Ella. It is about 1,141 meters (3,744 feet) high and the hike to the top takes about 2-3 hours. The views from the top are amazing, especially at sunrise.

Ravana Falls: These waterfalls are located about 2 kilometers from Ella town. They are a popular spot for swimming and picnicking. The falls are said to be the place where the mythical demon king Ravana held Sita captive.

Ella Rock: This is a challenging hike that takes about 4-5 hours to complete. The views from the top are some of the best in Ella, and you can see all the way to the Knuckles Mountains.

The Blue Pool: This natural pool is located in the Ella Gap. It is a popular spot for swimming and sunbathing. The water in the pool is a beautiful blue color, and it is surrounded by lush green hills.
